PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage to documents 3 by preventing serious jamming of the documents 3 due to an erroneous feeding of a separating roller 31, and to prevent reading efficiency from being excessively lowered, in an automatic document feeder.;SOLUTION: This automatic document feeder 107 is provided with a pickup roller 32 for delivering the documents 3, a separating roller 31 for separating the documents 3 delivered by the pickup roller 32 one sheet by one sheet, a bending detection sensor 69 installed between the pickup roller 32 and the separating roller 31, and a control part inputted with a signal of the bending detection sensor 69. The bending detection sensor 69 is provided with a contact piece 82 capable of being pushed up by the bent documents. The control part performs a control to stop the feeding of the documents 3 when the pushed up state of the contact piece 82 is continued for a prescribed time.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
