PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyurethane foam having durability superior to that of the one formed by a conventional mechanical froth process. PSOLUTION: The method for producing the polyurethane foam by mixing and dispersing an inert gas in a polyurethane foam-forming composition obtained by dispersing and mixing (A) an organic polyisocyanate, (B) a polyol, (C) a catalyst and (D) a foam stabilizer by a mechanical stirring, and foaming and curing the product is regulated as follows. The recovery of a poly(oxytetramethylene)polyol in the obtained polyurethane foam is 50-80 mass%, and the foam stabilizing agent (D) is a dimethylpolysiloxane-polyether block copolymer having 5-20 mass% content of silicon, the terminal of an alkyl group and 1,000-2,000 number average molecular weight.
