PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance dimensional accuracy of a pocket formed in a cage of a constant velocity universal joint, thereby facilitating the incorporation of a torque transmission ball. ;SOLUTION: A side face 37a of an outer ring opening side of a pocket 36 formed in a cage 31 is shaved prior to heat treatment so as to finish the dimension to the center of the pocket as prescribed. A side face 37b of an outer ring back side of the pocket 36 is cut following to heat treatment of the cage 31 so as to finish the dimension to the center of the pocket as prescribed, thereby enhancing dimensional accuracy of the pocket 36.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
