PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing plant stalk feed capable of fermenting with lactic acid bacteria without spoiling plant stalk, continuing fermentation even after shipping products through adjusting the water content of the plant primary rod and shipping in a short time. PSOLUTION: This method for producing the plant primary rod feed comprises (S16) soaking the plant stalk in a soaking solution of pH3-5 containing lactic acid bacteria so as to protect the plant stalk from putrefactive bacteria and promote fermentation with lactic acid bacteria through maintaining an anaerobic condition. The water content of the plant stalk feed is 5-45% in drying. As a result of this, it is possible to promote ripening even after packing and shipping and to rapidly and easily produce the plant stalk feed which is inexpensive and good-quality.
