PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a printer different from a target output destination printer to notify an appropriate department about erroneous transmission of an electronic document when the electronic document is erroneously transmitted to the printer different from the target output destination printer.;SOLUTION: In this electronic document printing system, an electronic document preparation device 10 generates the electronic document 110 including a content layer 114 showing an original image to be printed and a default layer 112 showing guide information of a coping method in the erroneous transmission. The electronic document 110 is incorporated with a branch code of a print output destination of the electronic document 110 in association with the content layer 114. The printer 40 receiving the electronic document 110 compares the branch code registered in a storage device of the printer 40 itself and the branch code inside the electronic document 110, and prints the content layer 114 when both matched each other.
