LITHIUM TRANSITION METAL BASED COMPOUND POWDER, ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD, SPRAY DRYING OBJECT USED AS BAKING PRECURSOR OF THE POWDER, AND POSITIVE ELECTRODE OF LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY AND LITHIUM SECONDARY BATTERY USING THE POWDER
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium transition metal based compound powder, used as a positive electrode material of a lithium secondary battery, satisfying simultaneously improvement of load characteristics such as rate and output characteristics, low cost, high voltage resistance, and high safety.SOLUTION: In the lithium transition metal based compound powder used as a positive electrode material of a lithium secondary battery, a lithium transition metal based compound having functions capable of intercalating and disintercalating lithium ions is set up to be a primary component, and the lithium transition metal based compound is calcined after adding one or more kinds of additives for restraining particle growth and sintering at the time of calcination at a ratio of 0.01 mol% or more to less than 2 mol% against the total molal quantity of transition metal elements to a primary component material. In a manufacturing method for a lithium transition metal based compound powder, a lithium compound, one kind or more of transition metal compounds selected from V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu, and the additive for restraining particle growth and sintering at the time of calcination are pulverized in a liquid medium, slurry in which the above is uniformly dispersed is sprayed and dried, and the attained sprayed and dried powder is calcined.
