PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical deflector, wherein variation in resonance frequency is reduced even when laser light of strong light intensity is used, and a change in deflection angle of an image projected onto a screen with the laser light is reduced, and to provide a display device using the same. PSOLUTION: The optical deflector comprises: a fixing part 23 with a recessed part 23A; a reflecting mirror 12 arranged inside the recessed part 23A; a pair of torsion springs 24A, 24B for coupling both ends at axially symmetric positions near the axis passing through the center of gravity of the reflecting mirror part 12 to both sides across the recessed part 23A of the fixing part 23; heat dissipation means 20, 21 prepared on the bottom part of the recessed part 23A and in the reflecting mirror part 12; and a driving part 4 for driving the reflecting mirror part 12 centering the pair of torsion springs 24A, 24B.
