PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inexpensively manufacturing a carrier for a small-particle-diameter electrophotographic developer giving high image quality (particularly good graininess), less liable to cause carrier adhesion, and having a sharp particle size distribution. PSOLUTION: In a method of classifying particles for an electrophotographic carrier using a vibrating sieve including an oscillator with an ultrasonic vibrator, a vibrating sieve in which at least two meshes are layered together and located on the ultrasonic vibrator is used as the vibrating sieve, and a vibration which a lower mesh receives from the ultrasonic vibrator is transmitted to an upper mesh to classify the particles fed on an uppermost mesh.
