PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tube parameter estimating method, a tube material condition evaluating method, a tube inspecting method and a tube parameter estimating device used therefor, by finding a novel correlation between an ultrasonic wave propagated in a tube and the tube.;SOLUTION: The correlation between a ratio (d/t) of a tube diameter d to a tube wall thickness t and an initial arrival velocity (V, propagation velocity) of the ultrasonic wave in a tube material is found preliminarily. The two kinds of parameters out of the three kinds of tube parameters t, d and V comprising the wall thickness t of the tube, the tube diameter d and the propagation velocity V of the tube material are measured, and the remainder tube parameter is found thereby according to the correlation hereinbefore. The measurement for the propagation velocity V is carried out by making the ultrasonic wave incident from one end side of the tube to receive the ultrasonic wave in the same one end side or the other end side.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
