PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving handrail device of a passenger conveyor for controlling the passenger conveyor at abnormal time, when abnormality such as separation is caused in a covering material for covering a moving handrail.;SOLUTION: When a floating displacement place is generated in the covering material 5 of the moving handrail 3 by the deterioration in the moving handrail 3, an abnormality detector 11 operates. An abnormal time control device operates via operation of the abnormality detector 11, and controls the passeger conveyor at abnormal time, and energizes at least a warning issuing means. The occurrence of floating displacement of the covering mateial 5 is notified by the warning issuing means, and the floating displacement can be early restored, to prevent inconvenience of impairing an aesthetic appearance when the floating displacement place of the covering material attracts eyes of a passenger of the passenger conveyor.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
