PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic book system, which keeps its usability in an excellent state without enforcing a user a troublesome operation. PSOLUTION: The electronic book 2 of the present invention acquires a right for downloading a book data and an electronic book server 3 generates a corresponding table 38 for corresponding an ID for the electronic book 2 with a book data code ID for the book data with the right for downloading in order to correspond the books with purchasers. When the book server 3 receives a request for downloading, the electronic book server 3 sends a predetermined quantity of the book data to the electronic book 2 if the book data is confirmed as a data with the right for downloading based pre-determinedly on the corresponding table 38 for corresponding the books with the purchasers, thus, the electronic book 2 acquires the right for downloading the books and a minimum quantity of the book data by executing a request for downloading at anytime and anywhere, which may allow to display the book data only if it is required since no large capacity memory is required for storing the book data.
