PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and surely connecting a pipe while preventing pressure loss.;SOLUTION: A succeeding pipe blocking temporary cover 60 is used for a pipe submerging method of laying a preceding pipe PU in an excavated ditch, disposing a blocking device 10 for preventing infiltration of slurry from a socket, on the socket side in a pipeline to block the inside of the pipe PU, submerging a succeeding pipe PU2 in this state, sucking slurry from a spigot of the succeeding pipe PU2 to form the flow of slurry in the succeeding pipe PU2 toward the socket of the preceding pipe PU and drawing the spigot of the succeeding pipe PU2 to the socket of the preceding pipe PU on this flow to connect them. The temporary cover 60 is constituted to detachably block the socket of the succeeding pipe PU2. The temporary cover 60 comprises suction ports 63A, 63B formed in a surface facing the socket of the succeeding pipe PU2 to suck slurry, and a suction passage 65 allowing the suction ports 63A, 63B to communicate with a discharge port 64, and is constituted to suck slurry from a suction pump through a suction pipe 66 connected to the discharge port 64.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
