PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polysulfone base permselective hollow fiber membrane having high water permeability excellent in safety and stability of performance and module assembly performance used for treatment of chronic kidney failure.;SOLUTION: The hollow fiber membrane comprises a polysulfone base resin and a hydrophobic polymer in which a presence amount of the hydrophobic polymer in the uppermost layer of the inner surface is 1.1 times or more of the presence amount of the hydrophobic polymer in the neighborhood layer of the inner surface, the presence amount of the hydrophobic polymer of the uppermost layer of the outer surface is 1.1 times or more of the presence amount of the hydrophobic polymer of the uppermost layer of the inner surface. A module in which extract of 15 mg/module is obtained when irrigating 40 vol% by volume ethanol aqueous solution inside of the hollow fiber of the module with membrane area of 1.5 m2 where the hollow fiber membrane is housed, is constituted such that the increase of histamine value in blood until 2 hr after administration becomes 10 ng/mL or less when dissolving the extract residue obtained from the five modules in a normal saline solution for injection and administering the same to an experimental animal through a vein.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
