PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To markedly improve fabrication quality at a lateral part of a container obtained through deep-drawing of metastable austenitic stainless steel sheet having a good deep-drawing characteristic.;SOLUTION: The austenitic stainless steel sheet excellent in fabrication quality after deep-drawing has a K value of ≤0.75, wherein the K value is defined as (the amount of α' produced through compressive deformation under a true strain of 0.2)/(the amount α' produced through tensile deformation under a true strain of 0.2). Such steel sheet can be realized, e.g. by using a composition comprising, by mass, 0.005-0.080% C, 0.1-1.5% Si, 1.5% Mn, 6-10% Ni, 16-20% Cr, 0.005-0.070% N, 0.5-2.5% Cu, 0-1.5% Al and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, wherein the value A defined as Si+Mn is ≤1.5 and the value B defined as Cu+3Al is ≥1.5.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
