PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce the subject austenitic stainless cold rolled steel sheet as hot-rolled by executing the regulation of the properties of a continuously cast slab before hot rolling and the control of the hot rolling conditions, exceedingly increasing the ratio of equi-axed crystals in particular, furthermore increasing the temp. in the final pass in the hot rolling and developing the texture. ;SOLUTION: A slab is an austenitic stainless steel contg., by weight 0.005 to 0.1% C, 0.05 to 3.0% Si, 0.05 to 2.0% Mn, ≤0.04% P, ≤0.03% S, ≤0.5% Al, 15 to 25% Cr, 5 to 15% Ni, 0.005 to 0.3% N and ≤0.007% O, and the balance Fe, and is subjected to hot rolling so as to regulate the rolling temp. to ≥1050°C, the strain rate is regulated to ≥150s-1, and the draft is regulated to 15% in the final pass. Next, it is subjected to cold rolling at ≥30% draft and is subjected to finish annealing at 950 to 1250°C.
