PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system automatically assigning audio materials to the optimal audio channel according to states of forward and backward configuration. PSOLUTION: The video/audio editing device executes by program processing of a CPU 112: an input I/F 120 for accepting selection of configuration of an object for editing by a user, selection of video materials and audio materials assigned corresponding to the configuration; a judgment part which judges whether or not the video materials assigned corresponding to one configuration accepted by the input I/F 120 are the same as the video materials assigned corresponding to configuration just before one configuration; and an automatic assignment part which creates data about a queue sheet so as to assign audio materials selected corresponding to one configuration to a channel different from a channel of the sound materials assigned corresponding to the configuration just before one configuration when it is judged that the video materials assigned corresponding to one configuration are not the same as the video materials assinged corresponding to the configuration just before one configuration are not the same by the judgment part.
