PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recognition system improving a recognition rate even when the number of reference images is small. PSOLUTION: This image recognition system includes: an image input device 90 for inputting a first image; a database 92 for storing a plurality of reference images; and a comparison part 91 for dividing the first image and the reference images into a plurality of sub-regions to respectively compare the respective sub-regions of the first image with the corresponding sub-regions of the reference images, and for determining the reference image having the maximum correlation with the first image based on the comparison result.
