PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent that road traffic information of an area unnecessary for vehicles is distributed to reduce waste of communication time or communication cost.;SOLUTION: In a distribution server, by setting an area corresponding to a predetermined road traffic situation as a target area, a target area list is updated (step S120). Demand for downloading is transmitted from an on-vehicle machine (step S20); whereas when the distribution server receives the demand for downloading from the on-vehicle machine (step S130), the distribution server extracts road traffic information of the target area within a prescribed distance from a recommended route or the present location of the on-vehicle machine from road traffic information stored and held in the distribution server (steps S160, S170), and distributes it to the on-vehicle machine from the distribution server (step S180).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
