PESTICIDE COMPOSITION, PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING A WATER-ABSORBING GRANULAR MATERIAL, USE OF THE COMPOSITION, AND METHOD FOR COMBATING ARTHROPODES, SNAILS AND NEMATOIDS PILING IN THE SOIL. The present invention relates to a pesticidal composition in the form of a water-absorbent granular material and the use of such compositions to combat arthropod pests, in particular soil-dwelling arthropod pests, and nematodes, with particular preference given to pest insects which are live in the ground. The pesticidal composition according to the invention as a water absorbent granular material, containing: i) from 0.001 to 10% by weight of at least one pesticidal compound, in particular a pesticidal compound which is active against said pest (ii) from 80 to 99.999% by weight of at least one superabsorbent granular polymer, and (iii) water, where the% s by weight is based on the total weight of the composition except for water and where components i) and ii) form at least 90% by weight of the composition except for water, and wherein the water absorbing granular material may be obtained by a process comprising treating superabsorbent polymer granules with an aqueous liquid composition containing o at least one pesticide compound.
