Stabilisation of mannose triflate (1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-O-trifluoromethanesulfonyl-BETA-D-mannopyranose) in acetonitrile

Disclosed is a formulation which comprises 1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-O-trifluoromethanesulfonyl-b-D-mannopyranose (mannose triflate) and acetonitrile solvent at a concentration of 10mg/ml to 18mg/ml in a sealed container, wherein the formulation can be used in the preparation of 2-[18F]fluoro-D-glucose ([18F]FDG) which is useful for in vivo imaging procedures such as positron emission tomography (PET).
