A friction wedge of a truck of a freight train has a hollow metal body comprising a frame with means of setting on at least one spring of truck, almost vertical and inclined toward walls, limited by planes and side walls, and a removable cover plate of elastic wear-resistant polymer material mounted on the inclined wall of the body and set in operating position in contact with a bevel of bolster bogie. To almost vertical wall of the body an additional cover of wear resistant elastic polymer material is rigidly attached, which in operating position is in contact with the vertical wall of truck side.
