A method to control the number of Laspeyresia splendana (Lepidoptera, Tortricidae) includes using microbiological preparations. In the period of spring reactivation of diapausing caterpillars of Laspeyresia splendana the collection thereof from natural conditions is carried out, the level of infecting the caterpillars by pathogens of entomopathogenic diseases and entophages is determined. Three techniques of hand settling of a Laspeyresia egg parasite, in particular a laboratory culture of Trichogramma, onto trees are carried out at the fixed number of viable Laspeyresia caterpillars per one oak tree. The first settling is carried out at the beginning of mass egg laying of Laspeyresia females. Two subsequent settlings of Trichogramma are carried out in the period of the beginning of mass egg laying of Laspeyresia females. In the period of mass migration of Laspeyresia caterpillars for diapausing single application of an aqueous solution of the biological preparation Boverin d.p. (dry powder) onto plant residues and soil surface is carried out to near-trunk circles of an oak tree.
