Method for the identification of antibacterial and antiviral polypeptides obtained from Mytilus edulis.; The invention provides a method for identifying polynucleotides encoding precursor forms of polypeptides of the families of miticinas and mitilinas. The invention also provides the miticinas and mitilinas identified by said method and use as antibacterial and antiviral agents.
