In an LSRM equipped with a stator or primary winding and an actuator or secondary winding, which is movable relative to an axis x, which are configured in order to be in a mutual magnetic coupling configuration, the method comprises arranging concave three-dimensional surfaces obtained from computing, for each bp and bs pair, the resultant force from applying a certain minimum excitation electric current density (J) for a certain number of intermediate positions of the actuator, spaced by intervals inc_x of displacement of said actuator, the higher zone of said surface expressing the optimum force zone on the basis of said three-dimensional surfaces, and for different values of J, within operating limits, an optimum configuration of the device in terms of the variables bp and bs thereby being obtained.
