Use of a composition comprising one or more expression vectors for the manufacture of a medicament for stimulating an immune response in a ruminant against M. paratuberculosis; wherein the one or more expression vectors comprise at least five isolated polynucleotide sequences encoding M. paratuberculosis antigens, and wherein the expression vectors are capable of expressing said M. paratuberculosis antigens; and wherein the M. paratuberculosis antigens are M. paratuberculosis antigens 85A, 85B, 85C, 35 kDa protein of M. paratuberculosis and superoxide dismutase (SOD).
