The present invention discloses a low-noise optical signal transmitter with a low-noise multi-wavelength light source, a broadcast signal transmitter using a low-noise multi-wavelength light source, and an optical communication network and an optical network with the same. The present invention uses an LMLS (Low-noise Multi-wavelength Light Source) which oscillates at multiple wavelengths with low enough noise at each wavelength. The output light of this LMLS has no increase in noise at each wavelength even when passing through a wavelength division multiplexer/demultiplexer such as a variable optical filter or arrayed waveguide grating. A wavelength division multiplexed-passive optical network which simultaneously enables ultra-high speed optical signal transmission and multi-cast signal transmission can be implemented using the LMLS. Furthermore, an optical amplifier implemented using a gain medium for the LMLS has no cross-coupling and can obtain a gain within a wide band.
