The arrangement (1) has a piston ring formed from a set of piston ring segments (2), whose ends (5, 6) run in a circumferential direction in an axial oblique manner. The piston ring segments adjacent the oblique ends are arranged for forming an axial seal lying axial to one another. A radial graduation (4) of the piston ring segments is provided at a radial inner peripheral surface over a part of a breadth of the piston ring segments. A sectioned seal ring (3) lies radially inner to the peripheral surface and an axial recess provided at the seal ring acts together with the radial graduation. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a seal between a movable part and a fixed part (2) a compressor.
