The invention relates to a wear insert for a jaw of a jaw crusher or the like. The wear insert comprises a body (2) and a core (3) inserted in the body, whereby the body (2) has a Vickers hardness value of at least 500 HV and the core (3) has a Vickers hardness value of at least 800 HV, the core having a higher Vickers hardness value than the body. The invention relates also to a wear surface structure comprising matrix material, comprising one or several recesses, and one or several wear insert(s) according to the invention, as well as a jaw crusher comprising said wear surface structure.
