The method involves providing hot gas layer (5) underneath noise emitting area of aircraft engine (3). The exhaust gas of the aircraft is used for the hot gas layer. The hot gas layer is provided in a shell-like arrangement. The hot gas layer is provided at a higher temperature than the air flowing around and through the aircraft engine. The hot gas layer is provided in a shell-like arrangement.
