A method is provided for diagnosis and induction of immunogenic tolerance in contact allergy and other epithelial immunotoxicological ailments, based on knowledge the role that keratinocytes play in these ailments and it is of importance for several conditions, including but not limited to allergic contact dermatitis (ACD), drug hypersensitivity reactions (DHRs) and autoimmune diseases.
