The method involves heating exhaust air from a dryer (1) in a thermal afterburning system and guiding as clean gas by circulating air recuperators (10,12). The fresh air recuperator (15) is provided to take fresh air of the circulating air removed from the dryer. The circulating air-fresh air mixture is heated in the circulating air recuperators and the mixture is supplied to the dryer.
