The present invention relates to a method for preparing nanocrystals including a semiconducting ternary compound that comprises the elements A, B and C, and more particularly a semiconductor of the formula ABC2 optionally coated with a shell having an external portion that includes a semiconductor of the formula ZnS1-xFx, with A being a metal or a metalloid at the +I oxidation state, B being a metal or a metalloid at the +III oxidation state, C being an element at the –II oxidation state, F being an element at the –II oxidation state, and x being a decimal number such that 0 ≤ x 1. The present invention also relates to the nanocrystals thus prepared and to the uses thereof.
