PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring blood pressure are provided to find a pulse most closest to an actual pulse of a blood vessel near measured part by analyzing the pulse detected by a plurality of sensors of a sensing part.;CONSTITUTION: A pressuring portion(11) pressurizes a portion near a wrist of an examinee. A sensing part(12) comprises a plurality of sensors sensing the pulse of an examined part. A selecting unit selects one out of the plurality of sensors based on pulse signals detected by the plurality of sensors.
