PURPOSE: A maintenance system of a railway vehicle utilizing the optimized goal CONFIDENCE setting and distribution method is provided to use soft computing technique thereby optimizing the reliability of the each component satisfying the target reliability of system.;CONSTITUTION: A maintenance cost function of a railway vehicle is constructed. The reliability network is composed through artificial neural network. The goal reliability of the railway vehicle is determined through the multipurpose optimization. The maintenance and repair reliability of each component of the railway vehicle are distributed using evolutionary algorithm. An optimal examination cycle and optimal maintenance cycle are derived.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
