Development of molecular markers linked to the ms3 gene in pepper genic male sterility and their use for identifying the ms3 allele and developing new inbred lines

PURPOSE: A primer which is related to a genetic male sterility gene of red pepper, ms3, is provided to immortalize of sterility and remove instability of expression type during sib mating. CONSTITUTION: A method for developing codominant primer pair with genetic male sterility gene, ms3 of red pepper comprises: a step of separating male fertility and infertility in 1:1 by gene ms3; a step of detecting a relating molecular probe through AFLP(amplified fragment length polymorphism) and BSA(bulked segregant analysis); a step of converting to CAPS(cleavage amplified polymorphic sequences); a step of determining ms3 genotype through CAPS; and a step of raising a novel male sterility using developed molecular marker.
