Development of molecular markers linked to the ms1 gene of genic male sterility in sweet bell pepper and their use for identifying the ms1 allele and developing new inbred lines

PURPOSE: A method for developing a molecular marker which is related to a genetic male sterility gene ms 1 of paprika pepper is provided to discern homozygote(Ms1Ms1) and heterozygote(Ms1ms1). CONSTITUTION: A method for developing codominant molecular marker which is related to genetic male sterility(GMS) gene, ms1 of paprika comprises: a step of making a group which male sterility and fertility are divided in 1:1 by ms1; a step of detecting molecular marker through AFLP(amplified fragment length polymorphism) and BSA(bulked segregant analysis); a step of converting to SCAR(sequence characterized amplified regions) molecular marker; a step of detecting ms 1 genotype with the developed SCAR molecular marker; and a step of growing novel male sterility system using developed molecular marker.
