PURPOSE: An arc-discharge prevention stop-switch and a method for driving the same are provided to extend the lifespan of a contact by maintaining the on/off speed of a contact.;CONSTITUTION: An actuating rod(10) is transferred by an external operating signal. A first operating unit(20) is moved on the actuating rod. The first operating unit is comprised of an operation body, a projection, and a contact protrusion. The operation body covers the actuating rod. The projection is protruded from the operation body in one direction. The contact protrusion is protruded from the edge of protrusion to a parallel direction to the actuating rod.
