PURPOSE: A relay having node structures for preventing damages by an arc discharge is provided to prevent degradation in the conductivity of contacts by preventing a contact surface from being damage due to an arc discharge occurring between internal contacts of the relay. CONSTITUTION: A relay having contact structures for preventing damages by an arc discharge includes a moving contact(18), and a fixed contact(20). The moving contact is divided into a first arc contact portion(40) for generating arc discharge and a first conductive contact portion(42). The fixed contact is divided into a second arc contact portion(44) for generating arc discharge and a second conductive contact portion(46). A distance between the arc contact portions is adjusted such that the first and second arc contact portions initiate arc discharge sooner than the first and second conductive contact portions.
