PURPOSE: A method for preparing 5-amino-N,N'-bis(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)-2,4,6-triiodo-1,3-benzenedicarboxamide is provided to reduce the amount of expensive acetic anhydride consumed per batch and to make handling easy since the reactivity of an acetic acid is less than that of the acetic anhydride.;CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing 5-amino-N,N'-bis(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)-2,4,6-triiodo-1,3-benzenedicarboxamide uses 50-85 (v/v) of acetic anhydrides and 15-50% (v/v) of acetic acids as a reagent and a solvent mixture for acetylation of 5-amino-N,N'-bis(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)-2,4,6-triiodo-1,3-benzenedicarboxamide. The solvent mixture of acetic anhydrides and acetic acids is distilled for reuse after acetylation.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
