PURPOSE: Metadata redundancy schemes for non-volatile memories are provided to allow a memory interface to recover metadata from a backup coup stored in a second memory even though a first memory disables access.;CONSTITUTION: A bus controller communicates with a non-volatile memory(120), and a control circuit(112) controls the bus controller to store first user data and metadata at a first memory section of a non-volatile memory. The metadata includes first and second metadata. The first metadata includes at least one of a first logical address associated with the first user data, flags, and data.
