PURPOSE: An integrator for providing a light switch mode for a no-load state of an LED driver circuit and preventing an overshoot is provided to selectively separate a compensation network from a voltage regulator controller in response to a no-load. CONSTITUTION: An LED driver(102) is connected to drive a multiple LED string(104). The drive voltage is controlled at an output voltage node(106) by switching the current of an inductor(108). The voltage is monitored at the lower side of each LED string by a dynamic headroom control block(110). A voltage regulator circuit generates a controlled output signal in response to an input voltage and a conversion control signal. A voltage divider is connected to the output node of a circuit to provide the monitored output voltage. A voltage regulator controller generates conversion control signals in response to the monitored output voltage and a reference voltage. A compensation network is connected to the voltage regulator controller.
