PURPOSE: A noise detecting system for a crank position signal and a noise detecting method for a crank position signal are provided to determine whether pulse signals are noise or normal tooth since the pulse interval of the pulse signal is compared with preset normal tooth boundary time. CONSTITUTION: A noise detecting method for a crank position signal comprises the following steps. Whether long tooth is started or not is determined based on crank position signals detected by a crank position sensor(S100). If the long tooth is started, whether a rising edge is generated from the crank position signals or not is determined(S210). If the rising edge is generated, whether a falling edge is generated from the crank position signals or not is determined(S230). If the falling edge is generated, time difference between the rising time and the falling time is calculated(S250). Whether pulse signals according to the rising edge and falling edge are noise or not is determined(S280).
