PURPOSE: System and method for preventing the wrong operation of a reversing gear are provided to prevent sudden brake from becoming performed since the direction signal of a reversing gear maintains the initial state without change even if the position of the reversing gear changes due to a mistake or accident during the automatic operation mode of an electric locomotive.;CONSTITUTION: A system for preventing the wrong operation of a reversing gear comprises an operation change switch(130), a master controller(110), a reversing gear(120), a vehicle control unit(140) and a holding unit(150). The operation change switch selects the manual and automatic operation modes of an electric locomotive. The master controller and the reversing gear are used for control the reversing and brake of the electric locomotive. The vehicle control unit monitors a signal for the automatic operation mode from the operation change switch and the direction signal of the reversing gear.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
