PURPOSE: An oxygen sensor monitoring apparatus for hybrid vehicle and a method thereof are provided to improve marketability of the hybrid vehicle by monitoring an oxygen sensor to identically maintain regenerative braking energy while preventing fuel efficiency deterioration of the hybrid vehicle. ;CONSTITUTION: A oxygen sensor monitoring method of hybrid vehicle includes the following steps: determining whether driving information satisfies a first condition or not during deceleration of the hybrid vehicle; determining whether a battery exceeds a charge limiting value by detecting regenerative brake energy of the motor; determining whether warm up of the engine is completed or not; operating the engine to the specific number of engine; and performing OBD monitoring of an oxygen sensor(S111).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
