Method for regeneration of exhaust gas with exhaust gas aftertreatment device of internal-combustion engine of hybrid vehicle, involves reducing oxygen concentration in exhaust gas independent of driving requirements of vehicle
The method involves increasing temperature of an exhaust gas aftertreatment device of an internal-combustion engine of a hybrid vehicle from operating temperature to regeneration temperature for regeneration. Oxygen concentration in exhaust gas of the engine is occasionally reduced independent of driving requirements of the vehicle during regeneration. Reduction of the oxygen concentration is achieved by throttling intake air flow, circulation of the exhaust gas by an exhaust gas recirculation device, post-injection and/or delayed injection of fuel. An independent claim is also included for an internal-combustion engine.
