PURPOSE: A character inputting apparatus is provided to enable the character which is the most possibly inputted to be selected with one inputting character by converting the input mode to the changed order based on the input history and entry-type.;CONSTITUTION: An English inputting method comprises a caps-lock mode, a shift mode, and a capital mode and small letter mode. The condition of the determination for automatically setting the current English input mode is defined. When the character input is generated and the input character switching key is inputted, the input mode, which is converted by the input character switching key, is extracted from the kind of the last inputting character and the current/past inputting mode.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
