PURPOSE: A method for processing wasted gas containing hydrochloric acid gas and sulfurous acid gas is provided to suppress the discharge of the hydrochloric acid gas and the sulfurous acid gas into the air. ;CONSTITUTION: The mixed stream(S1) of hydrochloric acid gas and sulfurous acid gas is separated into a hydrochloric acid aqueous solution and the sulfurous acid gas using the solubility difference of both gases with respect to water. Separated sulfurous acid gas is in contact with a sodium carbonate aqueous solution to be converted to sodium sulfite or sodium metabisulfite aqueous solution. The sodium sulfite or the sodium metabisulfite aqueous solution is cooled to be extracted as sodium sulfite or sodium metabisulfite slurry. The slurry is separated using a centrifuge(5).
