PURPOSE: A self-directed studying method by a functional game which combines the merits of a specially made card with a studying device and a studying device thereof are provided to increase studying effects during a functional game.;CONSTITUTION: A card(110) has a fixed form. English words are recorded in a sentence component display unit(20). The English words are displayed by a drawing. A main display unit(10) displays configuration elements in a sentence or displays a configuration element structure. An image display unit(30) displays a drawing corresponding to a meaningful word. A sentence combining structure display unit(40) includes a copy display unit(41) and a reference shape display unit(42). The copy display unit has the same shape and color with the sentence component display unit.
