The present invention is a sleeve through which the rotating shaft is inserted and an air foil bearing in which a bumper foil and a top foil are installed in a hollow portion between the rotating shaft and the sleeve, and an electrode in which a plurality of magnetic forces are formed in contact with the sleeve at a predetermined gap. An airfoil-electromagnetic hybrid bearing surrounded by this symmetrically formed magnetic bearing is characterized in that the magnetic force is generated by an electromagnet and controlled by a controller. That is, not only the rigidity and damping characteristics of the passive air foil bearings, but also the electrically generated adjustable stiffness and damping characteristics of the active magnetic bearings can achieve more stable rotational characteristics for rotational stability at high rotational speeds. No need for an auxiliary bearing can save installation space.
