The present invention relates to a method for surface modification of graphene oxide using surface initiated polymerization of a polymer by microwave irradiation. In the surface modification method according to the present invention, by surface-initiated polymerization of the polymer to the graphene oxide by electromagnetic wave irradiation, the reaction time can be drastically reduced and the reaction time can be drastically reduced through rapid reaction within a short time. Therefore, the graphene oxide-polymer nanocomposite prepared by surface modification according to the present invention can be usefully used for electronic materials or sensors.
